The emphasis for traditional fine art in Cornwall has recently shifted to the town of Hayle, which now boasts two specialist art galleries with a combined inventory of over 400 quality works. Many of the leading artists who were associated with the renowned Newlynand St Ives art colonies during the late 19th and early 20th centuries are represented, and both galleries update their inventory on a frequent basis.

Both galleries are located at the Foundry end of Hayle (see map below) and visitors can always expect a warm welcome, personal attention and informed advice (both galleries have research/archive resources available to assist with valuations, artist information, etc).

Alan has collected Cornish art over the last 20 years, and his impressive inventory reflects the fact that he has a keen eye for quality and strong Cornish subjects. The gallery opened in January 2011 and is situated in a newly-renovated, traditional Cornish building under the well-known Hayle (Foundry) viaduct.

Hayle is on the main A30 . Penpol Terrace (B3301) is the main road through the town and faces the harbour. Hayle is on the main line (London Paddington to Penzance) and both galleries are within a 5 minute walk from the train station.

There are a wide selection of independent retail outlets in the town, as well as major retailers such as Next, M&S, Boots, etc.

Hayle boasts a superb beach, some 3 miles in length, and is an ideal location for coastal walks.

St Ives and Penzance are both within easy reach (5 and 9 miles respectively).
